2024 'Masked' Exhibition

The Masks

"Mrs. Peacock" is an opulent masquerade mask inspired by the vibrant colors and regal presence of a peacock. The mask is adorned with a fan of iridescent peacock feathers that sweep upward. At the center, a large teardrop-shaped turquoise gem, set within a gold filigree frame that draws attention to the wearer’s eyes. This mask embodies both mystery and majesty, perfect for those who wish to captivate and intrigue.

"Porcelain Swan" is inspired by the elegance of blue and white porcelain, and the graceful beauty of a swan. Intricate blue floral and filigree patterns delicately painted across its surface, reminiscent of fine China. The eye openings are framed with subtle accents, adding a touch of luxury. Soft white feathers, sweep out, mimicking the wings of a swan in mid-flight, creating an air of timeless refinement and ethereal grace.

"The Cardinal" is inspired by the bold beauty of a cardinal. The mask is adorned with vibrant red feathers that fan out from the top, their fiery hue creating a sense of energy and passion. Embedded along the brow and around the eyes are glimmering black gems, arranged in a pattern that mimics the cardinal’s sharp, intense gaze. The mask’s sharp, angular lines evoke the silhouette of the bird’s distinctive crest, creating a powerful and alluring look.

Highsnobiety Coverage on AI and Coca-Cola

"COCA-COLA JOINS IN ON THE AI CONVERSATION"

https://www.highsnobiety.com/p/coca-cola-joins-in-on-the-ai-conversation/

Three weeks ago, a group of incredibly talented and fun individuals and I were briefed on a project with the infamous brand, Highsnobiety and their collaboration with Coca-Cola Zero Sugar for NYC Fashion Week. Their pop-up last week was a huge success and looked like a blast.

During the academy, the team really came up with some excellent prompts and produced incredible work!

Today, The Highsnobiety team released an article about their presence at the Create Real Magic Academy, AI in advertising, the outside-the-box innovation of the Coca-Cola team, and the amazing work generated by the AI creative talent from across the globe.

If you scroll through the images on the article, you'll see the work of most, if not all, of the team who attended the event.

It was inspiring to see what my team members submitted. I'm posting a couple of the images I submitted, along with one of my images that appeared in the article.

Thank you again, to the Highsnobiety and The Coca-Cola Company teams for the opportunity to create real magic with a group of talented individuals who are now my friends.

Coca-Cola's Real Magic Creative Academy

"Coca‑Cola Hosts Digital Artists and Tech Enthusiasts for Generative AI Summit"

"How Coke is Using AI to Make Ads with Artists Through Its Real Magic Creative Academy"

Coca-Cola extended a gracious invitation to a select group of immensely talented and wonderfully modest creative artists from around the globe.

This invitation led us to their headquarters in Atlanta for an unparalleled AI-infused encounter known as the "Real Magic Creative Academy." I still find it hard to believe that I was chosen as one of the fortunate 30 participants in this remarkable journey.

Throughout the span of three days, we were immersed in a transformative experience. We delved into the brilliance of Coca-Cola's marketing strategies spanning over 130 years, engaged with majorbrands in the realms of fashion and A.I., dedicated ourselves to creative assignments, and forged connections with some of the most ingenious and visionary individuals I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

It was a genuinely magical experience that will linger in our memories for a lifetime.

"Create Real Magic"

https://www.createrealmagic.com/

My entry in the Coca-Cola "Create Real Magic" contest has been confirmed as a Grand Prize winner! I feel incredibly honored and excited.

I want to express my gratitude to The Coca-Cola Company for providing this amazing opportunity. Participating in the contest was not only enjoyable, but it also helped me gain valuable insights into the intricacies of AI and prompts while working with GPT-4 and DALL-E.

I am eagerly looking forward to visiting Coca-Cola's Atlanta headquarters in August; and I am excited to take part in the "Create Real Magic Academy," a three-day workshop where I will have the privilege of learning from the talented Coca-Cola global design and creative team members, as well as other emerging AI artists. It's an incredible opportunity for growth and inspiration.

Transgender Day of Visibility

Zine Project

2023

Ann Arbor Public Library, Ann Arbor, MI

March 31, 2023

Over the past several years, the Ann Arbor Public Library has celebrated the, Transgender Day of Visibility. This year, one of my poems and art pieces was in the yearly magazine project, AADL TDOV Zine 2023.

Though I'm not transgender or non-binary myself, I believe everyone has the right to chose how to live their life, and for their private matters to be safely lived in harmony. I am also very passionate about breaking traditional gender roles. Traditional gender roles can lead to confusion, harm and/or isolation among people in a community. Above all, I believe in the acceptance and love of all people who have not  harmed or  inflicted pain upon others.

As a friend of the LBGTQ+ community, I contributed to this year's magazine with, You Can't Have She Without He.

fluid. man. woman. and the space between

Gutman Gallery - Ann Arbor, MI

May 13 – June 18, 2022

Last week,  'Prisoner of Gender' and 'Contemplation' were accepted into the 'fluid. man. woman. and the space between.' exhibition at Gutman Gallery in Ann Arbor, May 13 – June 18, 2022.

See explanations of the pieces below, and come check them out in person next month!

Contemplation

White Prismacolor pencil on black paper. The piece, in its simplicity, represents how naked one can be while lost in thought. Though the figure is somewhat feminine, it can be applied to all humans. It's a feeling nonexclusive to gender.

Prisoner of Gender

Acrylic on canvas. Prisoner of Gender is symbolic of how individuals can feel pigeonholed into a societal representation of what rules someone should follow based on their gender.

Published in The Brick Magazine, April 2022

Though It's now April, and Women's History Month has passed; it remains important to celebrate the women who have helped shape women's equality today, especially women in the workforce.

In February, I was blessed with the opportunity to speak with one of those women, the incredible, Marge Greene. Marge was one of the founders of 'Bread and Roses Productions,' an all women production company in Ann Arbor during the late 1970s.

The interview is in this month's issue of The Brick Magazine.

In collaboration with the Ann Arbor Women’s Crisis Center, the organization aimed to drive change in how women were portrayed in the media at the time. The entire process from start to finish was conducted by women, from the camera specialists and journalists, to the production team.

I was humbled by the ability to view the original 'Bread and Roses Productions' tapes at the University of Michigan Hatcher Graduate Library, Special Collections Department.

The entire process of writing the article, from the research to the interview, was very inspirational to me. Click Here to read more
